RMHC Augusta is celebrating 30 years of being a "home away from home" for families seeking medical treatment for their sick or injured child. We have helped over 16,500 families, since we opened our doors in 1984.
In 2014, we served 631 families.
It's easy to give to RMHC Augusta! You can donate online, drop your spare change in a donation box at McDonald's, donate goods or services, or volunteer your time.
Volunteers Make a Huge Impact on Our Families
The heart of the House is our Volunteer program. The volunteers serve in many ways, helping to make the House a comfortable and supportive place for our families.
The caring and cheerful volunteers of the PRMH are the first voices families hear on the telephone and the first smiling faces they see at the door. Whether it's planning and coordinating an evening family activity, supplying and cooking a meal for the families through our Guest Chef Program, being a part of our spring cleaning crew, or committing to volunteer on a shift each week, our volunteers make this House a home.
Volunteers staff the House from 9am to 9pm, seven days a week. We have three different shifts of volunteers: 9am-1pm, 1pm-6pm, and 6pm-9pm (at least six people volunteer on each shift.)
All who serve as volunteers must be at least 18 years old and be responsible to volunteer as scheduled. Volunteers must be willing to make a minimum commitment to volunteering twice a month for one year. Volunteer duties are varied depending on the day of the week, time of day, and occupancy rate. 3.Attend one of Volunteer Orientation sessions. Call to Sign up for a Volunteer Orientation which are scheduled every other Tuesday of the month at 11am and 6pm.
