RMHC Facts

RMHC Augusta has been a "home away from home" for families seeking medical treatment for their sick or injured child for over 31 years. We have helped over 17,000 families, since we opened our doors in 1984.

In 2015, we served 1,076 families.

It's easy to give to RMHC Augusta! You can donate online, drop your spare change in a donation box at McDonald's, donate goods or services, or volunteer your time.

Volunteers Make a Huge Impact on Our Families

The heart of the House is our Volunteer program. The volunteers serve in many ways, helping to make the House a comfortable and supportive place for our families.

The caring and cheerful volunteers of RMHC Augusta are the first voices families hear on the telephone and the first smiling faces they see at the door. Whether it's planning and coordinating an evening family activity, cooking a meal for the families through our Meal Program, being a part of our spring cleaning crew, or committing to volunteer on a shift each week, our volunteers make this House a home.

Volunteers staff the House from 9am to 9pm, seven days a week. We have four different volunteers shifts: 9am-12pm, 12pm-3pm, 3pm-6pm and 6pm-9pm.

Volunteers must be at least 15 years old and be responsible to volunteer as scheduled. Volunteers must be willing to make a minimum commitment to volunteering at least twice a month. Volunteer duties vary depending on the day of the week, time of day, and occupancy rate.

2. Email or stop by to turn in completed Application to Kristin Gordon

3. After receiving your application you will be contacted to schedule an interview and receive a tour of the House.

4. Schedule and complete your first day of training.

5. Set up your volunteer schedule. A Minimum requirement of a 6 months commitment or 40 hours is required.
